Cabin Air Filter Replacement

Everyone loves to breathe clean air. Whether you’re outside walking your dog or jogging in the park or yes, driving in your car. Cabin Air Filters are a relatively easy and somewhat necessary maintenance item on practically all cars. Changing out your cabin filter is typically an easy ordeal with a matter of separating a plastic panel or two and a number of screws. We changed the Cabin Filter on our 2013 Volkswagen Touareg after a couple of years of ownership because we started to get the tell-tale signs of a bad filter. In general, we just didn’t know when it was last done and it was worth it for the short amount of time spent and relatively low cost. To my surprise, the cabin filter that we took out was dirty as ever and worse off, installed incorrectly. Sure, it’s just a filter. But, if you install them incorrectly you can obstruct airflow and worse off, you’re losing the benefit of the filter to keep out the pollutants from the outside elements as they pass through the engine compartment. It was an absolute joke the way it was installed prior.

Anyway, I thought it would be a useful DIY for someone looking to change out the Cabin Air Filter on their Volkswagen Touareg. Check out the video below!
